There's a big difference between the regular slider lid and the Magnetic Slider lid. The plastic slider lid works great at keeping your drink hot/cold longer than the regular slider lid. However, even though you can pop off the slider portion for cleaning, eventually the plastic tabs that hold the slider lid in place eventually break off, rendering the slider portion of the lid useless.

The magnetic slider lid has three magnets in the lid that hold the slider portion of the lid in place. You can easily remove the slider portion for cleaning purposes and replace it back on the lid.

Now, we have the snap lid. It allows for easy cleaning and still works to keep your hot drinks hot longer.
